Hailing from Croatia, the Rimac Nevera has been capturing headlines for its series of record-setting achievements and distinguishing itself as a leader in the electric hypercar market.

Boasting an impressive top speed of 258 mph and powered by a quad-motor setup delivering 1,914 horsepower, the Nevera transcends the traditional boundaries of automotive engineering. Beyond its remarkable speed, the electric hypercar features an advanced All-Wheel Torque Vectoring system, precisely controlling power distribution to each wheel, ensuring optimal performance. This system is encased in a carbon fiber monocoque body, meticulously designed for both safety and aerodynamic efficiency.

Named after a powerful Mediterranean storm, the Nevera embodies the raw, unpredictable force found in nature. We're taking a closer look at the trail of world records the Rimac Nevera has left behind since its production, emphasizing its unmatched capabilities in the electric hypercar sector.

1. Top Speed for Production EVs

After its initial debut in 2018, the Nevera was met with skepticism over its self-proclaimed top speeds. Yet, it shattered doubts by clocking a staggering 258 mph, securing its rightful place as the fastest production electric car in the world. The Rimac Nevera generates an astounding 1,914 horsepower and 1,741 lb./ft. of torque while accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in an astonishing 1.5 seconds.

2. Quarter-Mile Record

Upon its debut, the Nevera broke the production car quarter-mile record by nearly a full second. In a remarkable display of speed, the Rimac Nevera blazed through the quarter-mile in just 8.25 to 8.26 seconds, as recorded by two different timings. This record-setting sprint outpaces the Bugatti Chiron by over a second, marking a new era in hypercar performance.

3. Acceleration and Braking Feat

Demonstrating an incredible blend of power and control, the Nevera can accelerate from a standstill to 249 mph and then brake back to zero in under 30 seconds. This remarkable ability not only highlights the car’s acceleration prowess but its advanced braking systems.

4. Fastest Speed in Reverse

In a remarkable display of capability, the Rimac Nevera has clinched the Guinness World Record title for the highest speed in reverse, reaching an astonishing 171.34 mph. This feat was meticulously recorded by Guinness World Records and accurately measured by Dewesoft at the Automotive Testing Papenburg facility in Germany. This venue is a significant landmark for the Nevera, having witnessed the hypercar's remarkable achievement of more than 20 acceleration and braking records in one day.

The Nevera's drivetrain, unique in its absence of gears, enables the four individual motors to operate either in reverse or forward motion, providing a continuous surge of acceleration from a standstill. This innovative design means that the same mechanism driving the Nevera to reach 0-100 mph in just 3.21 seconds, or 0-200 mph in under 11 seconds when moving forward, can also attain comparable speeds in reverse.

5. Goodwood Festival of Speed Record

At the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Nevera set a blistering time of 49.32 seconds during the timed Supercar Shootout, becoming the fastest production car to master the renowned hill climb. This achievement is particularly remarkable considering that the hill climb takes place on the Duke of Richmond’s driveway – a path that is narrow, occasionally walled, replete with twists, and not originally intended for a wide, high-powered EV like the Nevera. This record demonstrates the Nevera's exceptional agility and power, even in a demanding and intricate course.

6. Nordschleife EV Production Lap Record

On its first attempt at the challenging Nordschleife, the Rimac Nevera made a spectacular debut, breaking the previous EV production lap record by a stunning 20 seconds. Seasoned Nürburgring enthusiasts, well aware of the long-standing rivalry between Tesla and Porsche, witnessed a new leader emerge as Rimac's Nevera electric hypercar delivered an astounding lap time of 7 minutes and 05.298 seconds. This performance surpasses Tesla's Model S Plaid's recent lap record of 7 minutes and 25.231 seconds set in May, firmly establishing the Nevera's superior capabilities on one of the most rigorous tracks in the world.

The Nevera has not only shattered records but also exhibited unparalleled speed, acceleration, and handling in various conditions and directions. Rimac's 15-year endeavor in developing the Nevera, showcases the significant role electric vehicles will play in advancing high-speed automotive technology, while outperforming the capabilities of conventional supercars. As the Nevera continues to set new standards, its availability is as exclusive as its performance, with a limited production of just 150 units.
