          Porsche s 911 SC occupies a critical chapter in the marque s history, widely regarded as the model that reestablished the durability, usability, and long-term viability of the air-cooled 911 following the early 1970s. Developed with an emphasis on robustness and drivability while retaining the essential rear-engined character that defined Porsche s competition pedigree, the SC has since become a favored foundation for high-performance, motorsport-inspired builds that push the platform far beyond its original brief.This 1982 Porsche 911 SC represents an exceptionally well-executed interpretation of that philosophy, combining period-correct aesthetics with comprehensively modernized performance and engineering. Finished in classic white over a black interior, the car has been converted to a steel widebody using OEM Porsche 930 front fenders and rear quarters, giving it the muscular stance and visual authority of Porsche s most iconic turbo-era cars. Lightweight Getty Design fiberglass front and rear bumpers, along with a matching Getty Design fiberglass ducktail decklid, further reinforce its purposeful RS-inspired appearance.At the heart of the car is a formidable 3.6-liter 993 Varioram twin-plug engine, fully rebuilt and tuned by Steve Timmins of Instant-G, a name synonymous with elite air-cooled Porsche performance. The engine features extensive detail work and performance upgrades, including powder-coated intake components, chain boxes, fan pulleys, and ancillary hardware, along with billet lower valve covers. A billet flywheel paired with a Sachs lightweight clutch pack sharpens throttle response and driveline engagement. Exhaust duties are handled by a full Fabspeed system comprising headers, sport catalytic converters, and RSR mufflers, all remaining Colorado emissions compliant. Additional refinements include a Fabspeed carbon fiber air bypass, Wevo engine and transmission mounts, and a Wevo shifter, creating a tightly integrated and highly responsive powertrain.The chassis has been equally upgraded to match the engine s capabilities. KW adjustable shocks with dropped spindles are complemented by turbo front tie rods and an Elephant Racing rear sway bar with adjustable drop links. Braking performance is significantly enhanced via a complete conversion to 4-piston 951 calipers at all four corners with cross-drilled rotors. The car rides on Group4 wheels wrapped in new Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires and benefits from a fresh alignment and corner balance, delivering precise, confidence-inspiring road manners.Inside, the cabin has been thoughtfully reimagined in the spirit of Porsche s lightweight competition cars. Sport Recaro seats with houndstooth inserts anchor the interior, joined by RS America-style door panels, a Perlon RS carpet kit, radio delete, and a Momo Prototipo steering wheel paired with a period-correct 917-style wooden shift knob. Additional interior updates include a brand-new vinyl rear shelf, refreshed interior quarter panels, and Bosch H4 headlights. New wheel bearings have been installed throughout, further reflecting the comprehensive nature of the build.Recent service work completed in 2024 by Blue Chip includes a brake fluid flush, upgraded blade-style fuse panel, front wheel bearing replacement, and final setup work.
