By the 1972 model year often regarded as the sweet spot of early 911 production the car benefitted from meaningful refinements, reduced weight, and the now-iconic external oil filler, making it one of the most distinctive and collectible iterations of the original design.Powered by its air-cooled flat-six and paired with a manual gearbox, the 911T delivers the tactile steering feel, compact proportions, and unmistakable character that established Porsche s reputation among enthusiast drivers worldwide. Its simplicity and driver-focused engineering continue to resonate today, ensuring lasting demand for well-preserved examples.This 1972 Porsche 911T is a particularly special offering: a one-owner example that spent its entire life in Southern Arizona, benefiting from a consistently dry climate. As a result, the car is rust-free, accident-free, and exceptionally well preserved. Finished in its original and very rare Olive exterior over a black interior, it retains the understated elegance that defines the early 911, while remaining highly correct to its original specification. The car shows approximately 61,774 miles on the odometer.A sympathetic glass-out repaint was completed recently and finished to a high standard, preserving the car s originality while presenting beautifully. Mechanically, the car has been comprehensively attended to, with the engine fully gone through, resealed, and documented. This work included the installation of a complete set of brand-new Bosch fuel injectors an increasingly rare and valuable component for these engines. The transmission has been serviced, the shifter assembly fully rebuilt, and all additional systems addressed as needed, with extensive paperwork and documentation included.Further highlights include updated Carrera chain tensioners for improved reliability, a new Dansk muffler that complements the car s presentation and sound, and two new batteries. Altogether, this is a thoughtfully maintained, numbers-correct long-hood 911T that combines originality, documented mechanical care, and exceptional provenance.As early 911 values continue to strengthen, especially for rare colors and well-documented ownership history, this Olive 1972 911T represents a compelling opportunity to acquire one of Porsche s most authentic and desirable classics.
