Yet seek a deserted stretch of favorite canyon road, or find a green flag at the club circuit, and my descriptive of the new rear-engine coupe quickly changes to just a single syllable: Bliss. Someone inevitably asks: Which one is your favorite? In this field of dreams, its impossible to pick one. But if we had to drive one car as fast as possible for an entire tank of gas, it'd be hard to choose anything but the Porsche 911 GT3. Each shift from the dual-clutch gearbox is a muffled gunshot, and the steering is the best weve touched in a long time. It telegraphs exactly what is happening at the front tires and almost feels unassisted in its clarity and feedback. Yep, if we had to lap a track for 24 hours in France, wed pick this car to do it in. The GT3 gives you the best of both worlds, wicked acceleration and a glorious 9,000-rpm redline. Speaking of PDK, it's lightning-quick and nearly flawless in all situations. You really need to hit up your favorite road or local track day event to have the 911's performance heritage shine through. The steering is quick and precise, and overall the 911 gives you a nearly unparalleled sense of control and engagement. It works better the harder you drive it. Corner after corner, the engine never leaves its comfort zone, screaming giddily between 5000 and 9000 rpm without skipping a beat. I am awed by the immediacy of the power delivery, not a hint of delay between throttle and deafening clamor echoing off canyon walls. If you want to leave supercars in the dust, this car will do it.
