Built around the 2.7-liter engine and prized for its immediacy and mechanical honesty, the 911S remains a compelling, driver-focused expression of Porsche s motorsport-influenced road-car philosophy.This 1977 911S Coupe is an especially attractive and increasingly rare example, notable for its desirable sunroof-delete configuration and Porsche Certificate of Authenticity included with sale. The odometer shows 63,377 miles, but the actual mileage is unknown. Sold new on February 18, 1970, by Estes Zipper Porsche/Audi of Beverly Hills, the car has spent its entire life on the West Coast, cherished by just three long-term caretakers all within the same circle of family and friends for over five decades.Provenance and HistoryThe first owner, a respected Los Angeles based film and radio composer, took delivery of a new car and maintained it meticulously until his passing in 1989. In the 1980s, he relocated to Washington State, bringing his beloved 911 along. During this period, the car received careful repairs to minor body damage sustained during a rainstorm repairs that remain well-documented and properly executed. He also commissioned a conversion from the original hydropneumatic front suspension to a factory 911S-spec setup using aluminum S calipers and Koni strut inserts a costly upgrade completed by Beverly Hills Foreign Car Centre in 1978.Following his passing, the car was acquired by a close friend a jazz musician and composer who had long admired the 911. He enjoyed it for the next 17 years, continuing its diligent maintenance, and in 2000, commissioned a comprehensive mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment by Aurel & Don s of North Hollywood, a shop synonymous with elite air-cooled Porsche restoration. This included a complete engine rebuild with Mahle S pistons, chain tensioner upgrades, stainless heat exchangers, and a full repaint in the original Conda Green. These exclusive designs were meticulously developed by Ferrari s Tailor Made department and applied to just one example of each of the five production models available at the time: the 488 GTB, 488 Spider, California T, GTC4Lusso, and F12berlinetta making each car a true one-of-one.Now offered for sale, Blue Chip is proud to present this 2018 Ferrari 488 GTB 70th Anniversary Edition, the only example finished in a livery inspired by the 1959 Ferrari 250 GT Coupe Pinin Farina. Revered for its elegant proportions and early expression of Pinin Farina s enduring design language, the 250 GT Coupe provides the historical foundation for this modern tribute.Finished in Rosso Mugello with a contrasting Argento Nurburgring roof and mirror caps, this 488 GTB exudes timeless sophistication.
