The DBS was intended to feature this V8 in 1967, however, a 4.0L inline 6 was offered during its first two years of production due to needing further research and development to seamlessly integrate the V8 into the DBS. Fast-forward to 1977, the 390hp V8 boasted a 0 - 60 time in just 5.2 seconds and an incredible top speed of 170 mph. This specific Aston Martin V8 Vantage dressed in Black on Black, came after the first 16 V8 Vantages that were produced being 1 out of a 23 cars, which featured a "Molded Fliptail", whereas the first 16 were known as "Bolt-On Fliptail" For 1978, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage was truly a "supercar" in all senses of the word.
