Guards Red Finish with a Brown Interior. This 1981 Porsche 930 Turbo is an Icon. It is a high-performance sports car that was produced based on the 911 Carrera but features a more powerful engine and distinctive styling elements such as widebody flares, and signature whale tale spoiler that set it apart from other 911 models. The 930 Turbo was introduced in 1975 and was produced until 1989, making it one of the longest-running models in Porsche's history. The 1981 model year is significant as the United States would not allow the Porsche 930 Turbo into the country from years 1980-1986 due to strict emissions regulations, making this very sought after being a Canadian car with only 63 cars believed to come into Canada for this model year.

The cars condition both mechanically and cosmetically have recently been brought up to meet our high standards and we are marketing this example as a driver, not a concours level, due to the mileage, being repainted its same factory colour at some point in its life, and various patina that this car is presented as a driver or a slight step above. This 930 Turbo is powered by a 3.3-liter, Air-cooled Turbocharged flat-six engine that produces 300 horsepower and 324 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a four-speed manual transmission that sends all the power to the rear wheels. The 930 Turbo can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.2 seconds and has a top speed of 162 mph.

In addition to its powerful engine, the 930 Turbo also features a distinctive body style that includes wide fenders and rear quarters, oversized wheels, bigger brakes, and a signature rear spoiler that birthed the nickname Whale Tail.

In 1980, the Turbo was withdrawn from the U.S. and Japanese markets because of increasingly restrictive emissions standards. The company hoped that its new front-engine 928 with V8 would become the new top-of-the-line model, but when the 928 sales havent reached expectations and the Porsche faithful refused to let go of the six-cylinder 911, the Turbo was re-introduced to the U.S. and Japan in 1986.
